During my Master’s program I worked as a member of the Mobile and Portable Radio Group (MPRG), a part of Wireless @ Virginia Tech. During this Research Assistantship, I was responsible for porting the OSSIE Software Defined Radio platform to run on embedded platforms. OSSIE is an open-source implementation of the JTRS Software Communications Architecture (SCA) that is now a component of REDHAWK. Using the OpenEmbedded and BitBake tools, I ported a version of OSSIE to embedded Linux platforms, with Beagle Board as an initial target. I also mentored an undergraduate researcher who was involved with the project.
